We are part of the greater Bronzeville area, which includes several community areas and his a rich history in the arts. The boundaries are approximately 51st (on the South) up to Cermak (22oo South), From the Dan Ryan (I-90/94) to the Lake.
Our block club is in the 3rd ward, though the 4th ward also influences our community as well.
Our local high schools in Walter H. Dyett High School for the Arts and Phillips High School. Local Elementary Schools (to our club) include Mollison and Woodson.
We encourage you to discover more about the area in different ways.
The NextDoor social media platform is a fantastic way to get to know your neighbors, and what happens in our neighborhood.
We also will build a page that features some of our favorite businesses, especially those locally owned. Within walking distance of the garden, we would recommend:
- Gallery Guichard (436 E. 47th)
- Bowen’s Pizza (219 E. 47th)
- Peach’s (4652 S. King Drive; NW corner of 47th and King Drive)
- Two Fish Crab Shack (641 E. 47th)
- Harold Washington Cultural Center ( SE corner of 47th and King Drive)
